Wonderful Art Nouveau Gothic Gargoyle Bronze Sculpture Hot Cast
This magnificent bronze sculpture represents a griffin, a legendary creature with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle. Considered as a symbol of divine power and a guardian of the divine in antiquity, the griffin was seen as a particularly powerful and majestic creature, with the lion traditionally considered the king of beasts and the eagle the king of birds. Known for guarding treasures and priceless possessions, the griffin was also considered the king of creatures. Made using the ancient method of lost-wax casting and finished with a brown patina, this handmade sculpture features the body, tail, forelimbs, and hindquarters of a lion, as well as the majestic wings of an eagle.
